Fissure sealing and fluoridation
Two painless preventive steps that close the grooves where decay begins and harden enamel.

Molars have deep grooves that a toothbrush cannot fully clean. Sealing fills these grooves with a thin protective layer, ideally soon after the tooth comes through. Fluoride varnish or gel strengthens the enamel of all teeth and is part of every hygiene visit.
When
- Sealing: after eruption of baby molars and, most importantly, the first permanent molars at age six.
- Fluoridation: at every preventive check-up, twice a year.
