Socket preservation
Keeping bone after an extraction so a future implant has something to hold on to.

After an extraction the jawbone at that spot starts to shrink within weeks. Socket preservation fills the socket with bone substitute and a membrane at the time of extraction, so the ridge keeps its width and height.
Why it matters
- Makes later implant placement simpler and more predictable.
- Avoids larger bone grafting procedures.
- Supports the gum contour under a bridge or implant crown.
