Privacy policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data RaccoonX collects through this website, why, and what rights you have. It is written to be read, not just to exist: if anything is unclear, ask us.

01

Who is responsible for your data

The controller of the personal data described here is RaccoonX. For anything related to your data, write to hello@raccoonx.dev.

02

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us and what is needed to keep the website running safely:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, optionally your company or website, the package you are interested in, and your message.
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic request details (time, page, browser), which our hosting provider records when you visit and which we use to limit how often the contact form can be sent.

We do not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not buy or receive data about you from others.

03

Why we use it and on what legal basis

  • To answer your enquiry and, if you wish, to prepare a proposal: this is a step you ask for before a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To protect the website and the form from abuse such as spam: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To meet legal obligations, for example accounting rules if we start working together (Art. 6(1)(c)).
04

Is providing the data required

No. Sending the form is voluntary. Without a name, an email address and a short message, however, we cannot reply to you.

05

Who receives it

We do not sell or rent your data. It is processed on our behalf only by service providers we need to run the website: our hosting provider and the email service that delivers form messages to us. They act as processors under a data processing agreement and may use the data only for that purpose. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.

06

Transfers outside the EU

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (for example the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or by the Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

07

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: up to 12 months after our last exchange if no project follows; if we work together, for the duration of the project and as long as accounting and tax law requires afterwards.
  • Form rate limiting: IP addresses are held in server memory for at most 24 hours.
  • Hosting logs: kept by the hosting provider for a short period, usually no more than 30 days.
08

Example websites

The example sites under /examples are demonstrations for fictional businesses. Their forms send nothing. The pizza example keeps your demo cart in your browser’s local storage so it survives a page reload; it stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

09

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”);
  • restrict how we process it;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@raccoonx.dev. We answer within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work.

10

Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you by automated means, including profiling.

11

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle data changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
